Vivacon

Vivacon® 500 is optimized for concentration, recovery, and buffer exchange applications of genomic DNA and peptides for samples with starting volumes of up to 500 µL. In this volume range, they are also preferred products for peptide fractionation applications.

For optimal performance with highly diluted samples, Vivacon® 500 is equipped with patented Hydrosart® regenerated cellulose membranes, featuring extremely low non-specific binding characteristics and high flow rates. Selected MWCOs are available sterile and DNA-free, as PCR Grade units.

The devices are treated using a double-cycle ethylene oxide (ETO) gas process to ensure sterility up to a sterility assurance level of 10⁶ and freedom from detectable human genomic DNA contamination. Testing was performed using a qPCR assay over 55 cycles, with a validated detection limit of 2 pg.

High recovery rates and excellent reproducibility are combined with the convenience offered by volume graduations and molecular weight cut-off values printed on the individual devices. Vivacon® 500 features an optimal horizontal membrane design for DNA fractionation, such as primer removal, and peptide fractionation, such as Filter Aided Sample Preparation, FASP.

The option of reverse spinning after sample processing guarantees complete concentrate recovery, which is especially important when working with low sample concentrations.
