Sartobind® Q Mini
Provides 10 or 20 mL membrane volumes, making scale-up easier for bioprocess customers and offering an excellent fit for the production of diagnostic products. Sartobind® Mini is directly scalable to the existing Sartobind® portfolio, from process development through commercial manufacturing.

Sartobind® Q membrane adsorbers feature a macroporous structure with pore sizes greater than 3 µm. Quaternary ammonium ligands are covalently attached to the entire internal membrane surface, resulting in a separation medium with high binding capacity combined with exceptionally high flow rates.
Applications for Virus and VLP Capture
Since size exclusion effects are negligible, these membranes are well suited for virus purification and exhibit dynamic binding capacities up to one order of magnitude higher than traditional resins. Viruses such as adenoviruses and lentiviruses can be captured at high flow rates. The material also allows more than 100 reuse cycles without loss of binding capacity.
Benefits
- High-speed purification at 5–30 bed volumes per minute
- No size exclusion effects for large proteins and viruses/VLPs
- More than 10× higher binding capacity compared to conventional resins
Applications for Flow-Through Polishing
Sartobind® Q is an excellent tool for flow-through polishing of high-value proteins such as monoclonal antibodies. Bed volumes can be kept sufficiently small while removing viruses, DNA, host cell proteins, leached Protein A, and endotoxins from pharmaceutical proteins.
Benefits of Flow-Through Polishing
- Virus clearance > 6 log
- DNA below detection limit
- Host cell protein removal > 99%
- Endotoxin removal > 5 log
- Up to 80% savings in column costs
Easy to Use
- Plug-and-play devices from 0.08 mL to 5 L
- Can be used like a filter
- Flow rates up to 30 bed volumes per minute
- Reusable or disposable after use
