CIMmultus® C4-HLD – Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography (HIC)
CIMmultus® is designed for the purification of viruses (AAV, adenovirus, lentivirus, influenza viruses, and bacteriophages), nucleic acids (mRNA, pDNA), virus-like particles (VLPs), and exosomes. CIMmultus® columns can be used either as single-use disposable columns or as reusable multi-use columns.

Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography (HIC) is primarily used for aggregate removal due to its superior performance in this application.
Resins exhibit good binding capacities for small- and medium-sized proteins, while mixed-mode resins generally combine HIC and IEX mechanisms.
Membranes offer higher binding capacities for viruses, virus-like particles, and other large complexes compared to resins. They also provide the advantage of higher flow rates, resulting in shorter processing times and increased productivity.
HIC monoliths are key tools for the separation of plasmid DNA isoforms.
