Blotting Membranes
Sartorius nitrocellulose membranes are available in two pore sizes: 0.22 μm and 0.45 μm. Both versions combine the advantages of high protein binding capacity with low background and high membrane stability, ensuring easy handling.
Due to its large surface area, the 0.22 μm membrane version is recommended for small proteins. Sartorius blotting membranes are ideal for western blot, DNA blot, and dot or slot blot applications. They are optimized for all protein blotting systems, such as electrotransfer, semi-dry transfer, or simple capillary blotting.

Sartorius chromatography papers are available in different weights, thicknesses, and formats. They are designed to cover most blotting applications and make this simple task effortless yet highly consistent.
Made from high-purity cotton linters for uniform buffer flow and consistent resulting blots
No additives to prevent any interference during transfer
Supplied in sheets, rolls, and customized sizes to save time and avoid waste
Sartorius provides four types of blotting paper. Their extremely smooth surfaces and relatively high thickness provide absorption properties and superior uniformity across the entire contact area in the blot transfer system.
BF 2 and BF 3 grades are made from cotton linters with more than 98% alpha-cellulose content. BF 1 and BF 4 grades are made from refined pulp and cotton linters with more than 95% alpha-cellulose content. Higher grades provide increased capillary rise; grades with higher alpha-cellulose content offer greater strength and uniformity.
